MSc Digital Library Management
MSc Health Informatics
MSc Information Management
MSc Information Systems
MA Library and Information Services Management
Required LIS experience: Usually around 12 months relevant work experience is preferred, although the school is flexible about this.
The Information School at Sheffield offer a number of courses across various areas of the sector. Their MA in Librarianship is a more general qualification appropriate for a variety of roles, and as such is suitable for anyone looking to get an LIS qualification. They also offer more specialised courses relating to working in health-related information roles, digital libraries and information systems so if you’re looking to work in any of these fields these courses are worth considering as a way to acquire more specialised skills. They have also recently launched a distance learning course, which is more management focused than their Librarianship course, and as such would be useful for people keen to progress in their career without having to leave work.
